Congratulations to all the winners of the first George E Ravenhall Writing Competition.
The stories submitted were of an extremely high standard. The judges had to make some difficult decisions.
We just wanted to inform you of the judging process for this year.
The judges read all stories that were submitted. Any story that was submitted after the deadline or was over the 1000 word limit, was eliminated. The judges then selected a SHORTLIST from each year level.
This SHORTLIST was placed online for voting by students and their family. The idea was for everyone to read and enjoy the stories. Those stories that received the most number of votes won the POPULARITY AWARD.
The JUDGES CHOICE AWARD went to the students whose stories the judges thought were outstanding in their year level.
The ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD was given to students who did not make the SHORT LIST but the judges could see the potential in their writing.
First Prize, Second Prize and Third Prize winner list will be released on school social media (WeChat Channel) soon.
