What could be better than reading your favourite book?
Reading your favourite book aloud at the
RALFF Awards!
These awards celebrate books and reading aloud by having students from
Years One to Seven choose their favourite book or part of a book
and read it aloud to an audience.
Why the RALFF Awards?
The RALFF Awards...
Encourage students to learn and enjoy reading
Help students in their first positive step towards speaking in public
Help students gain self-confidence
Are fun!
RALFF’s Rules
Timing is important:
Years One to Two – 1:30 to 2:00 minutes
Years Three to Four – 2:00 to 2:30 minutes
Years Five to Seven – 2:30 to 3:00 minutes
Reading outside these times will lead to disqualification.
Students must read from their selected book, not a sheet of paper
No props to be used but readers are encouraged to wear a costume
Books can be picture books or novels
Judges will award each level (where numbers allow) First, Second and Third prizes based on voice projection, eye contact with the audience and animation.
